I just gave you a thumbs up on the mobile and rushed right back to desktop.. I don't like it either. :). Did it work?

I actually got it. At least I know it works. My computer's motherboard fried. Took it to a friend that can get all my pics off, whew! The iPad is nice but still like the computer. Now that hubby is retired, he doesn't share well. Maybe we need to barter for it. Clean clothes, clean house, cooked food for time on the computer. Ha! Yeah, right. (As my grandson always says)
I'm kind od jumping threads but wanted to show you my up and coming baby(s)

It's supposed to get down to ten degrees tonight here, in my Calif.desert ! I had added a bunch of new straw to up the warmth a bit and they've kicked it all out! Birdbrains!

Yeah Sally!!
Developing eggs are so fun to see!
Bees are not my thing. i would love to have them. I simply could not. I would end up running like mad as soon as one stung me. I am allergic..Panic city!

Poor you!!!

I am not, but still freak out like I am LOL.

LM: Am I going to have to harass you for processing details?

Have you seen the top bar beehives? My husband and I learned about them last year and will likely start a hive or 2 this spring. We had been reading a lot about it and it sounds like a much more NATURAL way to do beekeeping. I met a lady on the "Chickens in the Road" blog and forum who invited us to come up and see their hives which they build themselves. They live about 2 hours north of us in MI. They also had goats, chickens, a llama named Jeff and a horse. It was great fun! From the research we've done I think this is the way to go on the bees! Here's a couple of links on top bar:

Glad to hear about the thermo cube! I guess with weather that cold you can't test to see if it will ever shut off!!!

I'm so glad it warmed up here - if only for a couple of days!

I can't get the movie to play and can't find it on their website. Do you have a link?

I'll get to it...I've just been spending a bunch of time watching the chickens interacting with the door open between the 2 sides so I haven't had enough time to write anything!

I found the same thing. The "fancy pants" pet store and web sites have them way marked up. Menards, Lowes, Home Depot are all around $13 here in my area. When I first found those I was going to order them from a web site because I thought they were a "specialty item" and the price was HIGH! Then I took a look on the Menards web site and saw them!
Yes. I will order something online if I can't find it within 50 miles. I won't pay for a ferry ticket and gas to go searching farther. I like to buy things local when I can to help the economy here. I was sure glad to find it for $13 and pay no SH fee.

So glad there was a happy ending!!
Congrats on your new babies!! Have you tried teaching your dog the "leave it!" command? Put a leash on him and take him near the chicks - as soon as he perks his ears and tenses up, chuck him firmly with the leash and say, "Leave it!" He should turn his attention back to you. As soon as he redirects his attention to the chicks, repeat the chuck and the command. Keep doing this until he stops getting excited around the chicks. He's a poodle - they learn fast!
I don't see it, but it IS the thought that counts! Thank you!
I do the it the same way but the command is NO. With a stern voice but not yelling. A guy when I was a kid told me to never yell but to just change the tone of your voice and they will learn quicker. The first commands I teach when we get a new dog is NO and SIT. It helps with house breaking or anything else you want to teach them.

I like to support our small local businesses here also. There are things I can get there that I can't at the big retailers. Yes I have to sometimes pay more for stuff that I could get at the bigger stores like walmart for 2 or 5 dollars less. If I bought it at walmart though the little guy would go out of businesses and then that item I could not get at walmart I can get nowhere now. The big guy buys by the thousands because they have stores all over the country sometimes world. The little guy buys by the tens or hundreds so they don;t get that price break and have to charge more.
Anyway I am trying to agree with you. When I read this it don't sound that way. But I really am trying to say support your local communities economy.
