That is too small for that many hens. Not even big enough for one hen. I hope that is a miss print for sq feet. Hopefully you mean 56 sq ft.Hello I was wondering how do you clean out a chicken coop like what time, how often, we have a 5-6 sq. ft. Coop To have 6 hens?
That's good enough for the night maybe, but no longer. I would take that heat lamp off of them. They are fully feathered, so they will only overheat with that small of a space and a heat lamp over them. My 3 week olds are off of heat in our basement.
You clean it as often as you like. it is in your home. This is the temporary coop inside our basement (there is an ice storm tonight). The temp coop is approx 6 sq feet for the hens. When it warms a bit we will move them out side.
I'm with you - better safe than sorry... but I am sorry that the thing didn't work out!
You know - I really should look into GF chicken feed ingredients... seeing as how I have celiac and all - LOL. So far I haven't had any issues with the eggs... but get so much of a crumb of wheat product into me and... 'nuff said!
Very cool - - and by the way... Welcome to the thread!!
So sorry about the chick.Good for you for not making it suffer any longer than necessary. So hard when you know they just won't have any quality of life.

My fiance is not Celiac, but she is gluten free. I am reduced Gluten, but still consume some. I'm considering even going less. My whole house is gluten free, but I will eat gluten when I go to a restaurant.
I have IBS, and am very sensitive to some food that I still can not identify. It never seems to be the same thing. I need to figure it out, because it really.. well 'nuff said on my end too LOL.
My doctor who diagnosed me also has IBS and knows how meds didn't work for him. He suggested all natural remedies, like fibre, aloe vera juices, and essential oils. I just don't like the juice.. it's hard to find, expensive and it has chunks of aloe in it. Seems almost all of my troubles come while doing chores. Yep. That's my trigger.Aoxa~Hubby has IBS, and you're right, it's never the same thing that causes issues. We switched to the South Beach diet for a long time, high protein and greens, zero carbs and sugar. He had no issues. We really still have no idea what his triggers are. And if you've tried them, you know the meds don't help either.
welcome to the thread. Congrats on the chicks. They look adorableThis is the temporary coop inside our basement (there is an ice storm tonight). The temp coop is approx 6 sq feet for the hens. When it warms a bit we will move them out side.
