too cute -- hatching her own ... she's ok with the chickens? We have cat time OR chicken time in our yard. It would be easier to let them out together. I think now that the chicks are big they'd teach the cats to leave them alone - our dog is really ok with the chickens - chickens are ok with the dog. But the cats are crazy about chasing wild birds - haven't seen much caught - but they do stalk, even from inside the house.

Did you guys hear me before?

The chicks that were pooping blood on Monday (the most blood) and Tuesday (less than Monday) had no bloody poops on Wednesday! Absolutely no anti-cocci drugs provided.

So bloody stools is not always cocci. Just so you know!

Also want to share.. these chicks are very slow to feather out. I have them on a lower protein grower instead of starter. I'm switching back to unmedicated starter in my FF because of it. I don't like that they are so delayed. :)

Yes! I heard!!!!!

Do you have a thought on what was causing it and what stopped it?
No clue at all. Maybe an injury?

There weren't enough bloody poops for them all to be doing it. So one must have been pooping blood and whatever it was corrected itself.

I surfed through the bedding looking for any stained shavings. Not a single one. Don't worry. I washed my hands.
