The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

Here the extension cord plugged into temp controlled plug the the 3 plug extender. It's wrapped with electrical tape very well. No dust or feathers will get in

And the 3 plug extender goes into this waterproof outlet cover. The dog bowls cords go into this as well to plug in. I got it all measured up so the cords will reach. I will try and getter better pics tomorrow.

And bonus my solar powered motion detector spot light works awesome. Comes on when you walk up to gate about 30 ft from coop and lights it pretty well. And only where you walk so won't bother the neighbors or the hens since its mounted on the vent

Hard to see it but its on. It's attached to the vent. It's suppose to be 8 ft up. Won't effect the vent since its the part that's above the hole. The solar part is on top to the right of door

AFL - Could you post a link to the light you got? I am looking for very bright ones rather than the dim ones you often see. I know you said this one was brighter. Did you get at Lowes?

Another question for you...how easy is it to move your hoop? If you wanted to just drag it to the other side of the yard sometime, would it easily move or is it more work than just a quick drag?

I got it at home depot but couldn't find it online. Threw the box out but here's a copy of the front of the instruction book

Def can't move with one person. Can be done with 2 people 3 is easier lol I think the 2x4s make it heavy but more likely the cattle panels with a giant role of welded wore over it lol no critters are getting in :). I tend do go a little overboard on certain things. Lol

Can you change those light bulbs...or is it  just obsolete when they burn out?

I don't know. Didn't even think of that. If I can remember I will see if the light cover comes off tomorrow.

Oh wait I can check the book (duh)

They are selling them as never burning out light bulbs.  Their exact words are "Long-life LED's never need replacement"

Instruction manual doesn't say anything about light bulbs. To I saw it on the link Leah's mom posted. No clue why I couldn't find it online lol
