The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

I am posting a few picture of graphic heart pictures. Do not look at them if they offend.

The liver was beautiful

Intestines were clean with no remarkable issues. No irritations nothing swollen or odd other than lower intestinal wall was a shade darker.

As far as ordering a ton of feed..some places have special rooms to store feed that is rodent proof.
My DH has one on his project list after he gets done with the Orpington pen. It is almost done..all that is left is the roofing.
The feed room with be all cement and brick. Just a room for storage. No windows or ways for rodents to enter.
Ordering a ton of feed is cheaper at most places. I will be happy to save the extra money every year on feed. It adds up quick.

It is saving us $250 for that order.

It will add up.

No rodent issues yet. I don't know how they'd get in, no wood to chew through. it's either cement or steel. The ground is there but the footing is buried, so they'd have to dig quite deep and under and up. Here's hoping we don't have issues.. We did last year!
