I wonder how much of that is just $2-3 per dozen and how much is ppl giving her more and not accepting change back b/c they knew the situation her family's in.
IDK how I could get anything for my eggs; there are too many chicken ppl around here giving eggs away! >:-(

I was trying to come up with a way to prevent hens from walking in the ff. Karen gave me a good idea and I was thinking maybe the shelf the food is sitting on would work. I am going to try it for a day or 2 and see if they can get the food out, Stella will def let me know if they can't reach it lol

I got my plastic containers drilled for the water dish after I set this up so I will be switching that glass dish out tonight.

I've seen other stories on her ... if I remember correctly, she sells the eggs for more like $6.50/dozen, and also sells meat birds and some veggies. She gets her food for a few pennies a pound and the same with her egg cartons ... I read a story she wrote about how cynical the "local food" business can be where she said if she leaves her father in charge of her booth at the farmer's markets, he can't sell anything. But if she sits there, with pigtails and an egg basket and acts like a cute kid, people buy.

She is pretty much my hero.

Scott ~ for the racoons, Are you relocating them? if so they might be the same ones over and over. Also raccoons can travel in large families, so even if you are not relocating them, you may just need to keep catching each member and disposing.

What age range is best for processing roos? I have several that I need to do, but only one even looks big enough to be worth it..... Plus part of them are bantams as well.... ?
