Here is Rosie's brother Cooper. We breed them in case you haven't realized that yet... This would probably be one of the most uncommon colours - Phantom. :)
how tall are your minis? I'd like a tall mini/short standard maybe for my next one... (14-16" maybe?)

Stella is a barred Rock that I got from Sally8 on here. She is the youngest of my flock & now the biggest. She was so tiny when I got her ..... She fit in the palm of my hand. Now it takes 2 hands to hold her  She is also the official greeter, talker & food inspector. Yes apparently there are normal blizzards & then there are Buffalo blizzards.........I believe Hamburg had one of the top snow falls for the blizzard. But funny story we didn't have near the same amount of snow that we did for the blizzard of '77 that shut everything down for over a week. http://www.buffalonews.com/gusto/te...his-is-cnns-definition-of-a-blizzard-20140109 this is the link about definition of a blizzard & then a buffalo blizzard :lau
Oops, I meant BR not BA. Stella is such a cute chicken!

All of my birds are separated for breeding!!! WOOO HOOO!!

I have an order to fill for February 22nd - 20 Barred Rock Chicks, 5 Silkies, 10 Easter Eggers and 2 Naked Necks.
congratulations. When you go to set the eggs, I'm sure you set more than the order. How do you determine the number of eggs to set? Next yr or the yr after I'll be selling hatched chicks and it would be nice to have orders before the chicks even hatch.

My minis are long legged. I like them that way.

I'm not 100% sure their measurements. I haven't measured Chloe (mama) since her first litter, and I can't remember the number.

Minis should be long legged IMHO. They should look like a standard only smaller, correct, not like a poodle breed with a Bassett hound,LOL.

I'll probably set double what I need if I have it.

I have 10 girls with Jagger in one of the hallway pens. I only added the girls that are either laying now or close to it by their combs and pelvic bone width. I won't hatch until the eggs are a healthy size. All four of my second year Barred hens are in there. They should be good to hatch off of right away...

This is going to be my first year really meeting orders and demands that way. I always just sold what I hatched and never worried about hatching enough. This is going to be fun, and nerve racking at the same time :S

They did run into it a couple times when I first put it out but quickly learned to stay away from it. The younger, lighter birds flew over a few times but just quit doing it.
