I do not breed my chickens so my answer is just a guess. It may get better after a molt?

I don't see any lacing. what I do see is a normal blue with the (preferred) dark edging. if she were laced, the center of the feather would be either white or gold/red
I just put a citronella leaf in my hens nesting box today. It did not smell strong to me at all. Of course it was not dried either but I think the smell lessens when its dry? Here's my ? of the day. I bought a Citronella plant. It is huge. My intent was to harvest some leaves from it, cut them into strips, dry them and put them in the bottom of the nest box. Perhaps 1 leaf per box. I also have lemon balm, lavendar, dried lemon and orange peel, rosemary that I can add. There's also a prostrate viney minty invasive weed with scalloped leaves and purple flowers that appears to have no bug enemies. I was planning to dry some of that for the bottom of the nest box as well. Would the citronella be too strong??? My other option with it would be to put the plant in a nice big pot and plant it directly under the 2 nest boxes which hang on the outside of the coop.
My 10 year old daughter made up a chick song today and is very proud of herself and really wants me to share it with people on BYC (she is so very humble). I chose you as the lucky ones since OT's are welcome!![]()
So here goes (sung to the tune of "I'm a little teapot"):
I'm a little Chickie
Cute and Sweet
here are my wings
here are my feet
when I start peeping
set me free
and I'll be-e ha-appy
(insert applause)![]()
