The Never Ending Hatching thread! For those of us that hatch all year long!

HI! I am new to this thread... I just hatched out a chick that keeps flipping over onto it back.... I put it in a coffee cup, to keep it right side up... it only just hatched this morning, but has not been right side up at all until the coffee cup.... what is this, anything more I can do to help it.... will it die, or could it get better....
Give electrolytes, vitamins & sugar water asap! It's either weak, has a leg problem or a vitamin deficiency. Mine rarely survive when they do this without loads of extra care.

It is doing great!!!!

I just got my new incubator up and running. I had all of the materials on hand. The fan and heating elements are from a hand dryer like you see in public bathrooms (yep, just happen to have one lol), the glass came from an old TV stand, the thermostat is from an old cooler-bator and the wood was leftovers from other projects. Not one trip to Home Depot.

I fired it up to see how well it holds temps and it did so well I set eggs in it last night without staining it. It holds 138 eggs. I'm ready for some never ending hatching!

Also in the middle of a hatch of Olive Eggers, Ameraucanas and Ameraucana/Leghorn crosses. Looks like 10 have hatched and 7 more to go.

Terrible pic. sorry.

Well guys Im back for now. lol. Still in the middle of a massive clusterfu.. but yeah... I'm here for now. Lost a large chunk of the flock to a psycho landlord poisoning the birds. So I'm back to rebuilding the flock once again. Incubator is running at 1/4 capacity for right now. Finally got broodys! and boy do i now. 1 bantam silky 1 rir and 2 of my turkey hens are all on eggs, some even sharing the same nest lmao

oh that is terrible! I hope it was an accident and not on purpose! Last I heard you were in the middle of moving..... My incubator has been off since the first part of May but I'm getting ready to fire up again for just a few chicks from certain pairings, then I will wait until I can sort out my BCM girls and pair them up to really do some serious hatching.

My Welsh Harlequin duck hatched 10 but we lost some, 2 to a snake that had eyes bigger than it's throat, one that managed to wedge a leg between some little stumps and break it and one I just don't know what happened to it. The Muscovy girls have brought off a clutch of 10, one has quit the brooding area (the girls can hop out but not the babies) to hang out with the drake. I've had one broody chicken and she started right when I was so overrun with chicks that I broke her up. Way too hot here right now; 115 last Sat, 102 today.
