I've had them reach 116 and hatch. I don't even know how long the temp was that high, because I was gone for that weekend. Almost all of them hatched. I can't get a dang egg to hatch when the hatch runs textbook perfect. I've talked a lot into continuing and at least trying (as have others) and they end up having great hatches most times. Just candle later on. I've had broodies take off and hide nests and show u with up the 18 chicks in the middle of August. We're looking at 112 today, so imagine our Augusts.Anyone know the max temp an egg can get and still remain viable? Been perfect weather here (about 75 degrees all week), but some of you guys are having a rough time w/ high temps... I seem to recall reading *somewhere* something about 105 being the cutoff... but cannot recall the context (storing for incubation vs. actual incubation) I do remember it being the membrane becoming impervious to gasses that caused the issue.
