SUe my PO is really good and kep my packages ina cool area-- not hot, not freezing. THey ship a lot of eggs at my PO and are very thought ful of the eggs. SO I hope your POis the same. Otherwise, the embryos are have already started on their 21 day journey!
If I might suggest, when you get them, keep them at the same temp and get them into the incubator asap. I keep my shipped eggs upright in an egg carton, maybe you do the same, to let the air cells heal.
I didthis recently with shipped eggs instead of waiting 24 hrs. to settle before putting in the bator. They are upright in egg cartons and I had lots less blood rings and more growing embryos. In winter, I would wait the 24, but here in NW FL I put them right in with the summer heat.
I have alot of problems with my Post Office. Everything I get I make sure the sender puts, "Please Hold at Post Office - Do not Deliver, Call xxx-xxx-xxxx for pickup". I have had them leave them in the mailbox in the hot sun, on my doorstep in the hot sun, and their favorite - just leave a slip in the mailbox instead of calling me, which makes them sit another day before I get them. It is very frustrating! Needless to say, I usually have a very low hatch rate. I am sure that the packages are getting the same careless treatments in shipping that I get regarding my request for delivery!
Hey there, I know someone was asking recently but I have a few buy it now options for chicks to ship 7/8 and I will be posting one for 7/15 soon. Ad is in my signature if interested. Thanks!
I am again offering three chocolate project batches. 48 hour auction please to get through the holiday.....
#1 A mixture of large fowl chocolate project ameraucana hatching eggs and some eggs from my blue/black pen to continue to improve the line; 12+ eggs. The chocolate pen consists of a split chocolate cock bird over chocolate hens. I am getting some birds with single combs still in this pen and some clean faced.
#2 A mixture of bantam chocolate project ameraucana hatching eggs and some eggs from my blue/black pen to continue to improve the line; 12+ eggs. The chocolate pen also consists of a split chocolate cockerel over chocolate hens. This pen is the furthest along. No single combs but occasionally a clean faced bird.
#3 Chocolate project silkie eggs; 10 eggs. ( The girls have slowed a bit, so won't promise more than 10.) This pen is again a split chocolate cock bird over chocolate hens. I did not breed the birds in the pen so I do not know what is in their lineage. I got them back from a business deal that fell through. I did hatch a chocolate/partridge looking chick the other day. This pen produces a variety unwanted characteristics, but also has thrown some very nice chicks too.
Shipping on all eggs is $16.00. I am NPIP certified and AI clean. If your State requires special permits or testing for shipping you will be responsible for that too.
All auctions start at $25.00. Eggs to be shipped Monday. Eggs to be marked so you can separate the blue/black from the chocolate for breeding purposes down the road. Winning bidder to pay Paypal fees.
