I wish it wasn't so hot or I probably would bid! With temps. crawling around 105, I can't risk it. Gorgeous birds!

I try telling people about the rice and I swear they'll spend all night messing with other things and then can't get a thing to hatch. Usually goes in one ear and out the other, especially when someone else is telling them to open the incubator and do this and do that. Stick the rice in and walk away!

I'm debating throwing up a dozen plus silkie/showgirl eggs. The problem is, its 90 degrees here. I'm scared of selling someone cooked eggs.

Has anyone had good hatches with high summer temps? Is that the reason this thread has slowed down?

I just had or have eggs hatching that I picked up during California heat wave. 112 degrees and I have only fans to cool my house. They are hatching now too started 3 days ago. about 70% have hatched and I still have pippers.
I also laid half the eggs down and half in the upright . Didn't seem to make much difference. this where all home eggs.
I have not had much luck with shipped eggs this year. More to the fault of the Post office carriers.

I have several broodies hatching out chicks right now. The oldest are 3 days old. Those girls handled that heat pretty well. I've had so many people say the eggs will go bad, but my girls never think so.

These eggs are sold but I should have more to send by saturday as long as nobody else goes broody. Another hen went broody today.
