I don't think a "temporary" hike will hurt (chickens don't carry humidifiers either) but you will want to allow it to go back down again. You can try putting dry rice in the incubator to absorb some moisture too.

same as the cat litter... as long as they don't eat it. but then again it can only soak up so much liquid then it would pass thru.You can buy that desiccant in the floral section at hobby lobby, its like $8 a bag, not sure if that's safe though?
