My eggs seem to hatch for other people, just not for me. LOL

Yeah, I am still trying to figure out how Phage gets a better hatch with my eggs than I do, AND we have the same incubator.

I blame the fact that I am a mile high and just don't have the O2, OR the wonderful sea breeze she has helps her hatch.

That's what it is! I'm not near the Bay out here! Lots of 100% hatches out there.


I have a couple of crazy hatches going. I let one of my FBCM x Game hens set on some eggs that she stole from my momma of my lavender egg layers. He mother had hatched some out for me and I took them, so she's in there too. Poor Big Bird got booted. So then I found a nest in a almost completely crushed dog crate. Has cages on it and it collapsed, so another Marans x Game hen was laying under there and I used a gripper to add what I wanted hatched. Stupid move BTW! The eggs started hatching, so another since my SPPR Fancy had also been booted off a nest, her and Big Bird went in to help momma. I've gotten one chick out of there and there's still eggs, But I don't want to move things and have that crate crush, so now I'm waiting for chicks to stop peeking from under and around broodies and come out to play so I can snatch them up. My biggest problem is now there are going to be chicks I can't identify until they feather in. Stupid move, but I figure if she was going to hatch her's she could hatch some for me. So although I have some from 2 different nest, I have a ton in that crate with some wicked hens that want to take my arm off if I try to grab babies. I also have some cuties in my Mottled Jap pen. Momma had been one 3 eggs after my being away for a weekend and she was sitting tight on them, so they were the first hatched this weekend. Three little Jap babies and a very proud momma and daddy.

At least the birds can get these darn eggs to hatch!

I had some of her eggs ship from CA to FL about 1 1/2 weeks ago. They all arrived safely and I have 9 EEs and 7 SLW developing. I'm pleased so far what with it being hot during shipping.

Oh I'm glad you shared this, I just bought some showgirl/silkies from a gal that has been on here. I hope that I get as good viability!

I'm not going to answer that. You obviously haven't seen how many eggs I can get not to hatch at a single time. LOL It's be or something in this house and I haven't figured it out. I have chicks hatching all over under broodies. I have tried NOT to use broodies, but I suck, so the girls got important eggs this year. I'm sure you'll do fine. My eggs seem to hatch for other people, just not for me. LOL

The talking doesn't bother me at all. With SO many ( myself included) not hatching, it is better than coming to check out what is going on and things literally crawling,due to heat and the fact that we hatch so much in the spring. I would think at least it is still interesting to come read instead of waiting sometimes for a few bids....but I am not the chat police...:/. I just lurk most of the time.

You have Lav AMs?!?!?! Ooooohhhhhhh!!! My only batch from shipped eggs produced a split and a white . . . I'm still looking to hatch an actual Lav AM . . . and have it be a girl so I can keep her with my city flock! Not too much to ask, right?!?!?!?! . Lol.
