I think only peoplewith 5' 4" with blue eyes and brown curly hair living in zipcode 35453 that has 59 chickens, 2 guineas and 1 Max should be allowed to bid on them. That's just my opinion.

ok... i'm still not seeing an explanation. that was what I was told from another person who wouldn't ship within CA...
You may be thinking of Sales Tax. According to my accountant, there is no Sales Tax on Chickens since they can be classified as livestock however I would need to pay income tax regardless of where they sell if I made a profit selling chickens or eggs. No problems thereI think if you SELL any merchandise anywhere inside your residing state...you have to charge state income tax and keep track of it. A lot of peeps don't wanna do that.. I used to sell on eBay and I made a disclaimer I that inside the state of Tennessee, you would have to pay tax...easy ...NOt so easy to keep track of that...it was a pain. That might not be it...granted...but that explanation has my vote.
Are there people that make money selling chickens or eggs? Besides hatcheries? I thought that was an urban legend. You may be thinking of Sales Tax.
