The NEW Crazy 24hr AUCTION thread

Not a browser issue. I have firefox on my computer, chrome on my laptop, opera on the tablet, generic on this phone, and whatever-the-heck it is on Nintendo Wii. And they all display time IF I change the option in account settings (although sometimes I do have to clear cache)

But really, I'd just like to move to the next auction and just stop nitpicking all of the possible reasons and variables involved in what happened here.

Please don't make me auction off my top, alpha, sweet-natured EE roo just to achieve that.

I have already contacted the other two disputed bidders privately and offered them eggs. I only have one pair of these birds. It appeared to me that Cris had won, maybe I was mistaken, I have tiny screens to work with so it is entirely possible... but it was definitely not done deliberately! Iregardless, the other two will get eggs (if they wish to) at the same price. I do not know Cris personally and frankly don't care who wins the rare times I choose to post eggs here. I have fixed the timestamp issues that LTgress pointed out to me, had I known it existed I would have changed it years ago. I have a lot of nice birds, including Jubilees, Pyncheon Bantams, Chocolate Orpingtons, Calico Cochins, Faverolles... cut me some slack guys or I will take my eggs somewhere else. What's done is done and the steps to correct it from happening in the future have been taken.

That was very generous of you.
I think we all get especially excited when you post an auction for eggs as your birds are always so nice. Pleae keep posting !!!!

I think for future reference we should have a policy on auction end times for this thread. Lets keep it simple. How about these ideas:

1. BYC time stamp is the final word.

2. If you state that your auction ends at, for example 5.00pm PST, then any bid with a time stamp of a time before 5.01 PST is good. That would make any bids with a 5.00 PST stamp OK.

We could go for 4.59. It does not really matter though as long as everyone understands the rules.

Thoughts?

I like the one where any bids with a 5:00 time stamp are good. I think it would just make it would make things a little easier to remember for some

This is the way we've done it for years. I think new bidders need to familiarize themselves with the rules prior to bidding and the necessity of using the blue bar to timestamp posts so everyone is using the same "clock".

Sellers need to clearly state what time zone they are using if it is not a 24 hour auction.

Buyers can bid at greater than single dollar increments if they really want an item. Snipers are always lurking and there are some very experienced ones on this thread.
