I would really be interested in getting some good book references on chicken genetics. Something that doesn't read like stereo instructions would be great.

Thank you for the support. Packing certainly helps but Basque in general simply ship and hatch well. I often joke that you can hatch Basque in the Freezer. Those buggers are tough. My incubators are full full full, so I will not be buying them, but I have bought them before from Juststruttin, not only were they shipped well but they hatched better than even my own chicks do. I only lost one chick that was shrink wrapped! Can you believe that? only 1! On shipped eggs! I also bought some CCL from her that didn't do quite as well, so I am guessing this breed ships extremely well. I recommend Juststruttins eggs to anyone, she really does a splendid job! Looking forward to mine growing up!
My basque girls started laying in November. The eggs are still fairly small. I totally agree - the smaller the egg the better it ships. That would be a question for just strutting. Whatever it was it worked lol. But very interesting observation.

Seems like the bigger the egg, the better the chance of air sac damage.
