The NEW Crazy 24hr AUCTION thread

Don't feel bad... got a Jubilee Orpington large fowl hen stuck in limbo somewhere between Kentucky and Cape Cod since Tuesday. NO ONE has laid eyes on the box or scanned her since the day she went into the system.

Here is her tracking number if anyone wants to help "make noise" so they stay on it... but I am not very hopeful at this point

This so so sad. I just read that she was found alive. Thank goodness. Poor girl. She is one tough birds and therefor a great bird to have in your breeding program.

It is a good thing that birds can be insured, but the insurance only covers the monetary value. I feel so sorry for the animals that suffer or loose their lives to an incompetent postal system.

Well today was the day for the USPS to get their act together. Sorry to hear about your bird Sandiklaws. That would put me in a tail spin. The good news is the eggs from my BIN from Juststrutting have been found as well! And thank goodness for her AWESOME!!! packing job! These eggs were in excellent condition and I am very optimistic on the hatch. I just love this thread!

I know, I'd have gone nuts, too. HOPEFULLY someone noticed the problem and fed her at least SOMETHING along the way (even just bread). If she arrives sickly because of the long trip, you can still file an insurance claim, and the money back for the shipping, and just nurse her back to health. So I'm really crossing my fingers that she is at least still alive!

I have been known to give them little pieces of bread when they get to the PO.

. (through a hole in the box). I heard a story of a manager that was fired for taking a box of chicks home. The customer didn't pick them up by closing time, and he took them home to keep them warm, ect. He brought them back the next day, but still was fired for it. I told my management that if that situation ever happens at our PO (people don't pick up their birds), I'll call and make an animal cruelty complaint.
