The NEW Crazy 24hr AUCTION thread

Buff Orpingtons, amercaunas, cochins...Japanese bantam, sebrights, australorps...
I have a huge list but the first three are birds I really want to have for SOP breeding. whichever breed I find first that I like the birds of those I will look further into. ive already searched a ton on orpingtons so I feel pretty dedicated to them. I really miss my BTW Japanese too...

yep. im going to get a trio of two lines and breed selectively then I may add another line. I plan on breeding to the SOP.

if you go to showbirdbid.com forum you may find some people there who would have eggs. Those are some really serious breeders. Not the most personable of forums but the people there show at national levels. Also look on each breed's national club site for a list of breeders who are members.

Hey everyone who was it that had lavender egg laying chickens?

There was someone that crossed her BR hen with her WLeghorn roo, and hatched out a pullet that started to lay lavender eggs... I think for that experiment you would need a BR that already lays those pink tinted brown eggs. Not sure.

Even further back, there was a woman that ordered Croad Langshan eggs, those were lavender, pink and violet in the pictures, but she never posted again. Maybe she didn't have any luck with her hatch.

The woman that sold the Croad Langshan eggs is named Judy Gaines, lives in Ohio, has a FB page ... Feather Hill rare and fancy fowl ... I think she is starting to sell eggs and possibly chicks now for the fall.
I ordered some croad langshan eggs. 12 of 24 hatched and are doing fine. Although the picture posted with the auction showed pink, voilet and purple eggs I was told by the seller that they would lay brownish eggs and that she was just now trying to breed for egg color. Needless to say I feel a little mislead. They are beautiful chickens though. Time will tell.
