The NEW Crazy 24hr AUCTION thread

I have GSBR and Blue Barred rocks from the same lines. Should have some Blue and Black Rocks in the spring. Silver Penciled and Partridge and Blue Partridge Rocks when they pick back up. My BR are laying but not enough to collect..... so are SPPR but I have to wait till spring for a cockerel.

Probably not the appropriate thread - but I'm interested in hatching some Barred Rocks and was curious what people mean when they say "Heritage" rocks. Does that mean non-hatchery? How do they differ?

Hatchery Rocks have been slimmed down to get more eggs. The have been mixed with leghorns to be more productive. They don't compare with the regal, big rocks. I have the Blosl and XW lines of White Rocks. No eggs right now but will start selling in the spring. The Blosl line has the silver gene that putting a New Hampshire cock over a Blosl pullet will give you Golden Comets. The premium brand.

Not sure what you are asking really.... the standard has not changed so the birds shouldn't have. There is a HUGE difference in your run of the mill BR compared to heritage birds. One you see them you will never have a hatchery type bird again.

I have 2 breeding pairs of Silkies. First pair is red/buff cock over frizzled self blue/buff pullet. Second pair is Blue Cockerel over Partridge pullet.

They have been laying and slowed down as the days got shorter. Hoping they will pick back up soon.
