I do not show, but I do try to keep the best, most “type-y” birds for myself. I sell extras locally, and I’m in an area where people don’t always want to pay for quality, so it’s a good way to get rid of ones that I don’t want to breed.
Also, I’m not really into the huge over-stuffed chests in the show cocks, so I do not try to recreate that. But I do shoot for good tail carriage, wing carriage, smaller size, etc.
