I thought you couldnt have roosters

yes i am not technically supposed to have roos....but there are so many people in the area with them... i'm getting jealous. can hear them crowing all the time! i had a rat attack and kill one of my pullets this past weekend (sat am) and the next night (sun am) another was attacked as well but i ran out when i heard them at 3am and saw the rat jumping out of the coop! i didnt know it was a rat the first night.... i didnt know a rat could be that smart and viscous...i thought the first night the girl got her wing stuck and dislocated it that way and died... but the second night i knew.. anyways i boarded up the chicken door and put out my rat zapper and killed that big rat it was in it dead in 2 hours after i woke up again. huge freaking rat! you can not imagine the size of this thing....

i had a conversation with my boyfriend about it... and we decided we need a few roos.... to protect them. i do not see the harm in it.. my neighbors were ok with the roos i used to have. and the only reason i got rid of them was bc it was before the ordinance passed for the hens. well there are aLOT of roosters in my area... you can hear them walking down the street. anyways the local police have more important things to deal with in this area than dealing with roosters crowing. drug busts and stuff. i think i'd rather get a few roos and deal with the consequences if i do get in trouble for it... but my neighbors all like me and like my chickens anyways so i think its a good idea for now.

oh yea... that reminds me... my boyfriend is interested in getting a few pheonix as well.

One is a blue and the other three I believe are going to be blacks, too young to sex they are about 2 months old. These little guys are pet quality, one has a missing toe, one has an extra nail, one has a curled under toe and one does not have good toe placement. Would like them to all go as one group, all 4 for $20.00. If there is any interest we will bring them. Thanks

I am also going on Sunday morning. PM me if interested in a ride. You're pretty brave to get roosters. I love them, but you know how sensitive people can be, and they can sure be heard a long way off. If you get a couple of roos, keep us updated on how things are going.
