The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning, everyone! Playing catch-up here, as usual.

@bruceha2000 , Kendra certainly is a big girl now! She’ll be 11 in September. She still wears the shirt….now it actually fits as a shirt. It’s a little faded and worn around the hem, but it’s hers and she loves it!

@Madhouse Pullet , Thanks! I like that quilt, but certainly not enough to ever do another one like it! <shudder>

Saving coins pays off. We had a big plastic water jug that we started tossing loose change in. The other day when we dropped Tam off after we went to Cody, we ran in and grabbed the few things we still had left at her house - my guitars and mandolin, jewelry box, and jug of coins. Those were things we certainly didn’t want in the storage units. Ken stopped at the bank and got a bunch of coin wrappers, and the next day we got to work. We ran out of quarter wrappers so when we went to Walmart yesterday we picked up more and got the last ones wrapped. The result? $764.50. The orphan coins went back into the jug as “seed money”. Wow! Just wow!! Tomorrow we’re taking them to the bank and depositing them in our account. The box is so heavy we have to use Ken’s briefcase cart to move it!

Good job on the coins Blooie! About how long do you figure that took to save that?

I save my loose change too, but never had that much. Last October when my son visited, I gave my jar to him and said if he'd wrap it, he could have it...he was pretty happy with the $65 :)

We started seriously saving the change right after we got back from the cruise we took with Tam, Evan, and Katie In 2017. We said if we ever took another cruise, whatever we saved would be our mad money for enjoying ourselves in port towns. But now that we bought the house, our cruising days are over. That’s the only bad thing about this new place - we’d been mortgage-free for 25 years and our property taxes were a whopping $163.00 a year. Yikes!!

But, you have a pretty new house! I'd take that over a cruise any day :D

@DigMyChicks why have you never told me that even with the biggest decorating tip I have, chunky peanut butter frosting won't come out?

What a mess! Oh well, I'm pretty sure the cupcakes will still be eaten even if they aren't fancy. At least the cupcake liners are pretty :D

I think those quite edible…I bet they’re delicious with a cup of coffee.
