I wished I could set again and join, but I'm holding off.  I'll probably follow along though, just to see what everyone else hatches, and maybe I can learn something, or even throw my 2 cents in sometimes (needed or not.  lol)....  so far, I haven't been able to keep up with the chit-chat, but hopefully once chicken "set day" actually gets here, it will be more hatch related stuff.

Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to mow I go … not really supposed to be mowing the lawn just yet but we have a break in the weather in that it is only going to be 80.5F today with very little chance of rain so I am taking the opportunity when I can.

When I explained to hubby my reasons for wanting to do it this weekend he was all over my case, “are you sure you have had long enough to recover” .. “do you think that is a good idea” etc etc When I suggested that I could show him how to do it I was not sure he would ever stop laughing … hubby does not do ‘Garden’ and would be quite happy with ‘Jungle’ “doesn’t matter that you can’t see the chickens, you can still hear them!”

Sorry, I missed your question about a dog - it's my plan. A gsd makes a great companion and has a decent bark. In sure other breeds would do the same, but I've only have had gsds and I don't plan to change
