Any Home Bakers Here?

Well done for a first attempt! 👍🏼

Absolutely gorgeous! They would not be embarrased to be seen in a bakery window. :love
Thank you! I worried over them like they were babies I literally sat on the floor in front of the oven door the entire 26 minutes they were in there 😂😂 and I didn't burn the crap out of my arm pouring hot water into the cast iron on the floor of the oven to give them that first quick steam 🎉 Usually I'm a bread machine gal but wanted to give something a little more involved a go! Super happy with how they came out!

Ooh be careful with that steam thing! Safer to toss in ice cubes!
Yeah I went to culinary school and was a chef in restaurants for like 10 years the amount of burns my arms have seen woof haha I'm definitely wary of it now lol the ice cubes is a great idea! I didnt even think of that!

Made some European hard rolls for christmas dinner, and while the rest and rise times (start the night before and 8 hours of rest knead proof rest knead etc day of bake) for just for 8 rolls seemed a little over the top they were delicious and will definitely make them again. I used the king arthur recipe

Thank you! They were very delicious, I will say they dont keep super long they got pretty hard after about 4 days for the ones we had left but considering theyre European hard rolls meant for like olden times workers pockets I guess that makes sense 😂
