07:13AM Christmas Morning … Merry Christmas friends!
hugs.gif

I am a little sad, but still happy if that makes sense.

My son is all grown up [30] but still single and no grand children for me. My sisters are interstate and I am estranged from my parents. Hubby is from a small family also and his father lives way up the top end of the country and he is estranged from his brother. We will, however, catch up with family on the phone and Skype.

We have had a quiet Christmas for many years, just the three of us and the cats and chickens and that is OK, we have a wonderful time and as per the pie pictures, still go whole hog on the baking and turkey dinner etc. We have friends coming over on Boxing Day to help finish up all the food and listen/watch the Boxing Day Test [cricket].

The reason I am a little sad? The only neighbours we have that have small children appear to have gone away for Christmas … our neighbourhood sounds the same as any other day, Crows, Magpies, Cockatoos etc .. this is the first year in a long time that I am not able to hear excited children opening their Christmas presents or playing with them etc.

Still, looking forward to a great day and hopefully some fun pictures of the gals enjoying their Christmas presents

There's still time for grand children. Our son married at 33 (knowing that his wife could not have children) - they adopted two.

Sometimes quiet is good. I am guilty of cherishing quiet moments. Have a wonderful day.

Thanks Sour

I hope you have a wonderful day [when it arrives]. Yep, I have not totally given up hope of my son getting married and the possibility of grand children

I too love peace and quiet.

As I said, it is still going to be a wonderful day and I will enjoy every minute of it and I have you guys and gals to share videos of excited children [and grandparents

] with me.

Hubby is just preparing the stuffing for Juanita the turkey ... Anyone else name their turkey? We have done so every year alphabetically. Crystal is happily singing the egg song for the Christmas egg she just laid

which is definitely going in the stuffing. We can hear the rumbling of thunder in the distance.

Time to don my 'I Love Christmas' T-shirt [not ugly sweater

] and get what is going to be a wonderful day started.

I've always pictured you as being 30...

Hhhm, I think the telling of age is not allowed according to the BYC rules but let’s just say I was born on December 30 in the same year that Western Samoa became independent from New Zealand; the Beatles audition for Decca Records but are rejected; The Sunday Times in the UK became the first paper to print a colour supplement and the US spacecraft Mariner 2 passes by Venus, becoming the first probe to transmit data successfully from another planet … Merry Christmas Google
