I've seen tomato fields along the FL/GA/AL state lines. And then this time of year Ruskin tomatoes should be coming in from the Tampa Bay area of FL. We used to could go there and pick a 5 gallon bucket of good tasting vine ripe tomatoes to can for $1. They might be $2 now as the season winds down. There's an area there with good soil for tomatoes.

It's hard to top the taste of a homegrown tomato.

I like mine dead ripe off the vine. At least a hard pink. Never green with a pink blush.

Yeah, we were talking about that on another thread too. Actually, now that I think about it she might have mentioned not being allowed a phone while there?

@DigMyChicks have you ever seen the movie Snow Day? I always think of you when I watch that. The kids are so excited for a snow day and the parents are dreading it lol. I always imagine you jumping with joy

I think I have, but it’s been awhile. I feel sorry for the parents, but they created their monsters.

That sounds like a great project...a homegrown tomato in the middle of winter would be so tasty!

I was thinking that yesterday as I made tacos. I bought canned ones and they are not the same.
