OMG. This bed thing has turned into a huge mess.

They sent us the wrong mattress, it isn't the one that goes with the bed frame. It isn't even the one that works with the mattress cover or sheets. A rather heated exchange was had with the store manager and a customer service rep...they said for us to get the mattress we told the salesman to order (the one that works with the frame, cover and sheets)...it will cost $400 more. They also were going to charge us another $250 delivery charge.

The customer service rep said she could waive the delivery charge but not the $400 difference. The store manager said he couldn't do it without his regional manager's ok. The regional manager is at a conference and can't be reached.

DH and I finally ended it by saying make it right (meaning no charge to us) or we're taking the whole thing back to them and they get ZERO dollars from us. No sale at all. For what this stupid thing costs, $400 is a pittance...especially at the risk of losing a heck of a lot more for the total sale.

So, they have until Friday. If we don't hear from them by then (or they won't give us what we were led to believe we would be getting), we're driving it back to Cheyenne and leaving the whole thing at the store.

Probably not going to be a lot of sleeping going on here tonight, our old bed is gone. I guess DH and I will flip a coin to see who gets the couch and who gets the twin bed in the extra room.

Thanks guys...not going to rant on about it. It's just really disappointing. We'll get it sorted out one way or another.

We went through a similar experience with our bed when we got here. First they delivered the wrong mattress, then were supposedly "out" of the free sheet sets and pillows that were part of the sale.

We sent the first one back, and finally got the correct one. DH kept going back to the shop and bugged them until they gave him a set of sheets and pillows.

So it ended up OK, it was just a pain.

NYC that's why I have the same mattress since the 70's (no joke). Every time I had money for a new one, decided I wanted something else instead. Knees, hips, neck, shoulders, lower back all hurt anyway, so I figure it wouldn't make any difference.

Besides I worry about the run around the mattress places give you - like they did. I consider that bait & switch, that they conveniently forget to tell you all the extras what were needed to function - the way they advertise them. Maybe you can contact the "Attorney generals office for your state." You can bet many more people were tricked. I notice all the mattress places here say they will take away your old one. I always thought that was a gimmick. Because if you sent the new one back, you've got nothing.

Many years ago I made the mistake of getting rid of my old bed on the day the new bed was to be delivered; slept on the floor for 3 days!

Good morning all! What a suckie deal Debby!! Sounds like you didn't have a very good sales person

If a customer is buying something as expensive as that use your best people!! Did they set it up for you? When we bought our bed we went local....usually we went to a big town. The service was fantastic! You pay more, but from now on we will go through this business. They fix any appliance you buy through them so you don't have to wait a month for a washer repair man. Good luck Debby...absolutely frustrating to be in that situation!

Can a salesperson be that incompetent ? I think not. Sounds borderline scam to me. Sorry for the aggravation you are dealing with.

Morning everyone, a late start to the day. Hope you all have a good Thursday!
