Good morning folks

Tee hee N F C I did not think of that .. I just gained a new nephew!

Blooie your neighbourhood sounds lovely. It is nice that you help each other out like that. While we say G’Day to the neighbours when we see them and share eggs, cat sit when they are away etc; nothing like travel funding or bringing over supper, we all keep pretty much to ourselves. May be, when we move to the village, that will change.

Yep, some back street justice may get dished out .. while we do not have the death penalty, child murderers would be accepted in our jails pretty much the same as they are all over the world I think

It was already 75F with a humidity of 90% when I was feeding the gals this morning and predicted maximum for today is 88F.

Guess that's a teeny tiny bit cooler for you Teila. Are your chickens handling the heat ok? That was something I used to worry about with my Florida flock...took a bit of extra effort but at least I never lost one that way.

Do you know when you all might hear about the new job? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you

The delivery guy is here and is setting up our new bed (again, lol). Can't wait to try it out tonight!

Fingers crossed, Debby!

DH is home overseeing the process. The delivery man just told him this sort of mix-up happens a lot. You'd think the bed company would wise up on how to prevent the ordering problems.

I'll let you know how it works B!

Hey N F C Yep, definitely a bit cooler if not still icky from the humidity.

The girls have been doing some puffing and panting but their coop is definitely designed for hot nights and tropical weather. They do not do ‘get wet’ so we have a mister that runs over their favourite vegetation spot which helps to keep them and the plants cool. Watermelon is a given on a hot day and lots of frequently refreshed water with ice to drop it to cold rather than warm

Touch wood .. we have not lost one to the heat so far but we have been close.

The interview board told hubby that the successful applicant “will hear next week” which starts tomorrow so yep, fingers crossed and thank you!

Woo hooo on the bed! I hope it works out this time and is all that you expected it to be and more!

Hi N F C - thanks for the invite.

Hi everyone else too.

Just call me the crazy bird lady! Not just chickens either - we have Japanese quail, Chinese quail, Java finches, Bengalese finches, and Bourkes Parakeets. Plus 3 cats, 1 dog, 2 children who I have recently started home schooling, and a husband who puts up with it all!

Love that Valentines idea - I'll take the kids down to the beach and we can make something pretty in the sand to go with our message.

Hi there JaeG .. lovely to meet you!

What a great idea! Thank you for joining in and helping Becky out!

Even though hubby held the flag for me on our message, he is not impressed with Becky! Might have something to do with me asking him why he does not do anything romantic! Lol

Great to see you here!

You do have a lot of birds and a nice variety too. It sounds like you have plenty to keep you busy.

The Valentine's Day idea was sweet, I hope she gets a lot of responses to it.

So you live in NZ and close to the beach? Sounds wonderful.

I'm in WY now but we used to live in Florida...the ocean is probably the biggest thing I miss from there.

My name is Debby by the way. Feel free to use your member name or tell us your "real" moniker, whichever you're most comfortable with.
