The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hey diva I and countless other Australians who are currently disgusted, could not agree more. The death penalty does not exist in Australia. However, life in prison does and regardless of any extenuating circumstances [drug abuse etc] there is no excuse and that is what he should have got!

It really is a good indication of how money is apparently equally or more important than an innocent child's life ... our justice system should hang it's head in shame!

I agree, that doesn't seem right at all. That so called "father" should have gone to prison for life. Where was the baby's mother in all of this?

(Good for you on the health report, sounds like things are looking up!)

The mother was charged and convicted for failing to provide the necessities of life and was given a suspended sentence ....

Tee hee .. just read this on my sister's Facebook page:

Oh dear, it appears I have "failed" as a foster mum to Freddie. Yep, seems that his forever home is going to be right here with me (and hubby and Amy eventually). Happens all the time apparently, even to the upper echelons at greyhound adoptions. They foster dogs, then can't bear to part with them. Know that feeling. He has settled in so well and is so adorable, affectionate, well mannered, quick to learn, etc, it just doesn't seem right to disrupt his life (or mine) by sending him somewhere else. Even the lady who minded him while I was having my nose job said he was adorable. (She is a foster "fail" too.) I'd have to say, though, of all the things I have failed at, this would have to be the most positive "fail".

Like I didn't see that one coming! LOL

Now that's the way to fail at something!

Good news I think...for all concerned, Freddie, your sis.

Congrats on the new nephew Teila

That is why I do Not like strays, drop-offs, and any other, not-mine critter showing up on these 2 acres.
It can be so hard to send them away again.
Scott

You're a softie Scott...and there's nothing wrong with that!

I'm so glad Freddie found a forever home!! Actually it sounds more like he came in, made himself totally at home, and then just sorta wormed his way into their hearts while he was at it! GOOOOD dog, Freddie!

Quiet here this morning. I have a love/hate relationship with Saturday mornings because I don't have Kendra. I love that and I hate that!

I have been working with her on climbing up on the table. I need her to sit on the table so her belly button is about at eye level with me sitting in the kitchen chair in front of her so I can cath her easily. I haven't been able to lift her comfortably since last year.....picking her up hurts my chest. So Ken has been my official Kendra-lifter-upper. Now he can't lift her either. So she's gonna have to figure this one out. We were able to teach her to get into her car seat by herself, which was a huge help because trying to hold her, lift her high enough to put in the seat while twisting her to face forward at the same time was tough on backs. So now we need her to get up on the table by herself. Mommy's gonna love that lesson later on, but it is what it is!

A neighbor brought over spaghetti, all the fixin's for salad and brownies when he heard about Ken. It's his famous "baked spaghetti" - he's known for it. He brings it to town-wide pot lucks and it vanishes, it's so good. Anyway, his daughter has some medical issues and Ken has helped them tremendously with travel funding through a special fund that our Shrine club has set up for that. So he was delighted to be able to help Ken out. Think we'll have that for supper tonight. Didn't eat it last night because we had to go to Cody so we ate there. Good neighbors in this town, I'll tell ya!

Interesting that Australia doesn't have the death penalty......sounds like somebody needed a good dose of down-home-back-street justice. Creeps!!

@Blooie good to hear from you today, I was wondering how you all were getting along. Kendra's a smarty, she'll probably pick up on that table climbing in no time and then there won't be keeping anything out of reach, lol. I can see where that would be very helpful.

What a nice neighbor to bring over dinner! Enjoy and have a restful evening
