The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hmm, sounds like he may be heading for Atlantic City up on South Pass, DMC. I could be wrong, but that's the only one I can think of right now... And, with two phone calls and the handing over a key, Tam became a homeowner this morning. She's dead tired because she worked all night until 7 this morning, met the realtor at 10 (after coming by to pick me up and go with her) and she now owns her first home. So is she now at home being a good girl and getting some sleep before Evan gets home from school? Nope, she dropped me off and cajoled her dad into going over with her to see it again! He'd stayed here while I went so I wouldn't have to take Kendra. It was something to see. Immediately after getting her keys, she just lost it - couldn't stop crying she's so happy. I'm a little bummed -she's no longer going to be 2 blocks away but several miles. But I'll get over it! Thanks for the support, my friends. :hugs Oh, if you ever needed an idea of how laid back Wyoming is, yes, our realtors have often been known to meet the clients in jeans and a baseball cap! ;)
That's so exciting! Congratulations to Tam on her new home!!! So glad it worked out. :)

@Blooie that is wonderful news about Tam getting her own house! Now she won't have to worry about someone coming along and wanting their rental back. She looks so happy and I bet Evan is too, especially since he won't have to switch schools.

Terrific news all around!

So much for getting anything done today. My DS (6 years) wanted to get a finch out (he loves the finches) so everyone ended up coming out. I now have Pie tucked under my chin (the big baby), Rosie snuggled into my hair and two busy body finches preening my hair. The Java babies look good. I keep checking them. I just hope the parents are feeding them enough, but they never seem hungry when I check them. It's supposed to rain for at least 4 days here. That should fill up the tanks but we don't have a drier so getting washing dry might be fun!

J, did you know your photo is out on the internet?

Good morning folks

Hubby knocked off 977 kilometers [607 miles] yesterday before stopping at a motel for the night. Just 499 kilometres [310 miles] to go so, if he heads out early, he could arrive lunch time today.

The car was great and no more flashing engine light, even on the hills. When the mechanics had a quick look at it for him earlier in the day, the code was related to a possible misfiring cylinder. While I do not know much about car engines, I am wondering if the recent service and then spurts of 100kms/hour [62 miles/hour] which we do not do often in the city

dislodged some gunk or dirt which temporarily caused an issue. Anyways, all is good and not long to go before I can relax, knowing he arrived safe.

Tee hee J those featheries of yours sure do keep you on your toes!

Blooie I wish you could see me right now .. I have a huge smile on my face! I am so very, very happy for Tam, Evan and the family; everything for a reason

Awesome news Blooie! I asked my son where he was going and he said Gilette and they are seeing a coal mine also.

@sunflour
 DS can't complain about our cat hair...he has a cat himself! Last time he was here I think he enjoyed the cats as much as anything else, maybe he's really coming to see them?

DMC, tell your son to take an assortment of clothes on his trip to WY next week. We've had 3 days of snow followed by a few really nice days, and now back to snow. Layering is a good idea! Hope he enjoys himself.

Hi Debby, thank you I will let him know. Crazy weather here...67* right now but it's supposed to get cold again and very windy tonight and tomorrow.
