The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Oh Diva you do make me laugh! My super power is a completely useless sense of direction. I'm very careful where I park my car or I'd never find it!

Teila your coop is coming along beautifully. Your hubby is working very fast despite the weather. And you've been hard at work too. You definitely deserve that bourbon!

We got spits of rain off and on today, but not enough to fret about, unlike SOME people we know.  In fact, even if we'd gotten a lot more I'd have felt guilty complaining about it.

Ken's having a rough day.  The Percocet are making him pretty sick, so he's decided to stop them altogether.  He told me not to bother filling the hydros...he won't take them anyway.  But I'm going up to Powell and doing it anyway, on accounta he couldn't stop me if he wanted to!  ;)   Tonight he's going to try to sleep after taking a couple of Advil.   Yeah, we'll see how that works for him.

I don't know why I'm having such a hard time tonight.  It isn't me going through all this, but I feel so totally tired - just bone numbing tired. Of course, I had the girls at 5:30 this morning because the morning cook at the school called in sick at the last minute, but that's nothing new and I was up anyway.  Part of it is because we put the head of the bed up for Ken (it's adjustable) and it wasn't high enough for him and too high for me.  So tonight I'll camp out in the recliner and see if we can both get some sleep.  I'm so afraid I'm going to roll into him during the night that I lay there like a statue, staring at the ceiling and almost hoping I don't fall asleep. I'm one of those move-all-over kinds of sleepers.

Don't pay me any mind....just tired and crabby.  Ever have one of those days when you'd like to go to bed to get away from your own self because even you don't like you?  Yeah, like that.

Yep...several days like that! It will get better Blooie.

Oh Blooie, poor you, and poor Ken. Hope you both get a bit of rest and feel a bit brighter tomorrow.

Maybe this can make you smile:

I also have done that more often than I want to admit - once walked into a glass wall thinking it was the opening the automatic door left. I was so embarrassed, just turned around and went home with a headache.

Good morning!

Had to laugh, those things you all were talking about (pushing a pull door, losing direction) is me all over. I think I get too caught up in my thoughts and forget reality is right in front of me.

We're going up to Casper today to get some stuff for the golf course. I'll be gone most the day but will check in when we get back. Need another cup of coffee and to catch up on my BYC reading first.

You all have a wonderful Saturday and take care!

I'm working ( of course).

Sorry about the other employee issue.

Hi sunflour, hope your Saturday is ok even if it is at work. Yesterday I was really in a tizz over the employee thing but finally decided, it won't matter in the long run...we'll open and do the best we can with what we have. There's a reason for everything.

How about another cup of joe?

Remember those? Used to love the Saturday morning cartoons, eating cereal in front of the tv in my pj's.

Well, speaking from the perspective of someone who has done the impossible - shutting my nose in the car door - I have to admit that I've also pulled the push door and walked into the men's room by mistake. Of course now it's okay - if I have been working outside and do that I can finally just tell shocked fellas that I felt "manly" today.

You guys rock - always have someone's back and a cheerful word or two of encouragement. Somehow during the night we got switched - he ended up in the recliner and I ended up back in the bed. But I did sleep, and I think he did too.

It is so foggy this morning it's hard to make out Kenny and Jenny's house. Hope that the weather is good next weekend so I can go see Debby! Ken can't drive, so I have to do the driving and Ken has got to make it to that interview in Rawlins, so this time he'll be the one along for the ride. (I hate driving on I-80. Been from one end of this country to the other and there's no worse stretch of road to be driving a car). He said I shouldn't have told her I was coming....should have just shown up at the course and asked for a job application. Wouldn't that have been funny?

Teila, the progress on both places, the cleanup and the new coop, is amazing. You earned that little bit of liquid R&R, that's for sure!

Glad you both got some sleep Blooie, sleep is the best medicine of all!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you can get to Rawlins with the minimum of I-80 drama...I hate that highway (but use it almost every other day).

Tell Ken to keep his funny ideas to himself, I don't need any more job applicant strangeness, lol.
