Would that be a 'palm castration'?

I confess to having an evil little chuckle when I mention the denutting of the trees and think about how many of my friends may be cringing or squirming

Yes, i have to mark where i want the windows tomorrow. After they are done, i will paint inside and out. Then i have to build the goat pens and partitions inside. So glad it will be wired with electric. It is all coming along!
Especially the Ents!!![]()

Just do the "float test". If the egg floats in water, it is bad, if it sinks, it is good. Last year Yuki decided to lay out. I knew she was up to something because she had been a very reliable layer. Found her nest in the bushes in the front yard. 14 eggs, all good. No rooster and she never tried to sit them. She's never been broodyJust mark an x on all the eggs you find and the next day those nests will have only new eggs without marks. Or mark a date if you want them to be incubated. Then you know when to chuck the bad ones.
Better than when it goes out for days!I hate when it goes out, then out, momentarily - gets all the clocks blinking, and can really disrupt delicate electronic devices.
I am so sorry! Are you considering a Tessla battery for your solar?Especially the Ents!!

We've been out since 2:30 Monday morning and the estimate is the 4th. Sure would be nice to have battery backup for the solar panels!! No line power, no solar generation UNLESS you have battery backup and the associated hardware. There isn't a line down between our house and the city to the north which has plenty of power, no one out. I have no idea why we are out but our < 50 "outage calls" are low priority while they work on the places with several hundreds of people without power. The "status" says no one is assigned to our areaI bet it doesn't take them an hour to fix it once they get started, probably blew a transformer.
Typing from my in-laws 30 miles south where we are all having showers. I'm heading back, animals to care for you know. DD1 is staying to do homework (though it hasn't been posted yet and class is tomorrow at 1:15). DW and DD2 are staying, DD2 has an ear operation tomorrow, must be at the hospital at 8:30 and has to shower with antiseptic soap both tonight AND tomorrow morning. BUT DW has an eye doctor appointment at 3:45 so if DD2's surgery takes the full 2 hours (starts presumably at 10:30) AND she comes out of the anesthetic hard like she has in the past, I will need to go down to the hospital (25 miles) to pick her up. Fun!
I have at least found one bit of "lemonade" from this outage. The pool is an excellent source of water for flushing the toilet. I have no use for it otherwise![]()
OK, two glasses of lemonade, I could be in Puerto Rico and out for weeks and weeks with no water and nowhere to go.
If you don't hear from me before the 5th, just figure I have no power, therefore no internet.

I finally got a half decent photo of my littlies. And a funny one even though the flash didn't go off.

To those without power I do hope it is resolved soon.
LOL, love that 2nd picture where the little ones are stretched out flat![]()
I wish we had that here!He was trying to snuggle under Blackbird's wing who isn't quite big enough! We gave them some cardboard tubes and they love hiding in them. I've had some beautiful birds coming through in my older babies:

They seem to be silver with a peachy colour through them. Despite me not intending to keep any I think I will be! Hopefully DH won't notice!
Our fridge isn't keeping as cold as it should. Just what we need! It's 7 weeks out of warranty so we should still be covered under the Consumer Guarantees Act we have here that says an appliance should last for a 'reasonable' length of time. 2 years, 7 weeks is not reasonable for a fridge.
