Good morning, I'm back!
Had so much fun with my cousin, we grew up together and she's almost like a sister to me (an older sister as I like to remind her). We messed around in Laramie Friday then Saturday we met my SIL in Fort Collins, CO for the day. The old downtown there is block after block of little specialty shops and independently owned restaurants so lots to see and did a bit of shopping.
I got home yesterday afternoon and DH took me out fishing....and, I caught my very 1st fish! A nice sized trout (I'll try to post a photo later today). DH got one too, but mine was the biggest
Trying to catch up here on BYC, lots of reading so I'll be popping in/out today. Hope you all have a good one!
Had to go search... pics and poster warnings all over the net, never heard of the drop bear - glad to know it's just folklore
Now that makes me mad - but hey, the Target in Macon is closing
Don't they know some girls prefer blue anyway
It is shocking to see the price tags on children's clothes.
OMG, would not have believed it without pics - glad she is OK. You would think the sun wouldn't be in one spot long enough to cause that.
Guess that explains the theory of spontaneous combustion of humans.
Me too - that's why I wear knit or stretch tops and have to cut tags out of clothes. And never, never try to wear unlined linen. And I'm a little OCD as well
- it's difficult to live without a full sized fridge, hope you get yours fixed or a new one soon.
Have you been somewhere...just kidding...we missed you and glad you are back.
Sounds like a wonderful get away - gotta see a pic of the fish.
I had rainbow trout only once on a trip with my family years ago....they served it with the head on. I could not even taste it with those eyes staring at me....so Dad put a napkin over it's head, and it was very tasty.
Interesting. They are opening one in Burlington next year, last state in the country to "get" a Target store. We were also last to get a Walmart and a Costco. Not enough people to make it worth their while I guess.
People here are boycotting Target because of their bathroom polocies, but we hardly ever went there anyway. The closest Costco or Sam's Club is 50 miles away, so they are never entered and isn't worth the membership fee......"Life" does go on without them...![]()
The "closest" Sam's Club to us is about 2 hours away and the "closest" Costco to us is 3 hours away. I do like to drop in on those places about once a year, mainly for the curiosity and to see the gigantic packages![]()
), and uncle do. I never really saw the point. They do have some decent prizes but everything is just too big/too much. I mean, why do you need that much of stuff? HahHere's my 1st (and therefore, biggest) fish! And yes, I am wearing gloves...not up for sticking my bare hand in a dead fish yet.

He is a big pretty fish, thanks! We were using lures yesterday, no live bait involved (partly because I can't stand to touch the stuff and partly because DH thinks it's more 'sporting' to catch without it).
I think we're going to fire up the smoker and cook them that way...a couple of trout won't take long and they're really good that way.
Pie anyone? One of the older guys that works with Quinton gave me some fabulous apples so I made him a pie and am going to deliver it shortly. I have to go to town for a haircut then I’m bringing a carpet cleaner home and cleaning them...ugh! I get new furniture Thursday and it hasn’t been done for years so it’s time. It will probably take the rest of the day.

I agree! Off with their heads!

Really nice trout there @N F C , we don't have any trout here....but I sure do like catching them....but, not real keen about eating fish. When I keep them I fillet everything....bream, bass, crappie, or catfish and eat it fried....no bones and no heads. The grandsons come to visit and we will have a catch and eat day....they love it....![]()

Shopping sounds dangerous where you live.I think ours is closing because you can shop there safely only if you have a concealed weapon permit
Man that is a really big fish, and beautiful - looks pretty with your coat and car
How did you catch him?? Fly Fishing??
Bet you already know this, but if you ever get barbed by a catfish....scratch some of the goop off their body and rub it in the area. It neutralizes it
She would have to place a whole loaf over the head for me
Removing the head is the best. So, how are y'all going to cook them?

and 5 more weeks of it! I had a mini vent about it on FB and a friend of mine then tagged me on the Target FB page where the ad was being discussed. I voiced my opinion to which Target Australia replied “Teila, I am sure you will come around it to”. Talk about poking the bear .. I have no intention of “coming around to it” and told them so, along with the fact that I was interested that they presumed to know me and that their response had extended the amount of time I felt it would be until I needed to shop in Target again
Anyhow, I managed to score a piece of rope to act as a lead from one of the locals who also gave her a drink of water on their front lawn and then I took her home, asking everyone along the way if they had seen her before. I posted her picture on our community site and after she had settled down a bit, took her for another walk down to the beach to see if she wanted to go anywhere in particular, again asking everyone I saw if they had seen her before or knew her owners; no luck and she still seemed to not know where she wanted to go and just pulled in any and all directions. So, back home we went but sadly, because of the chickens, cats and Jessie the dog, we had no way of keeping her here overnight and had to ring animal control to come and get her. Hubby works at the Council [local Government] so he knew the animal control guy and will be able to find out if her owners are found. She was wearing a collar, no tag but the AC guy scanned for a microchip and she had one but he did not have access to the database at the time to check the number against the records.
