Hi DMC We're supposed to be around 50* today too but going outside into that constantly buffeting wind is a pain.

I remember reading stories of early settlers going crazy from the wind always blowing across the prairie. I'm beginning to understand now

Not only the constant wind I suspect but also the fact that their homes weren't exactly "tight" nor insulated. They must have walked around inside in the winter with a fair bit of clothing on.
