The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Also need measuring spoons (we always get them but then they separate/get mismatched or in the latest instance, the numbers fade off!) So I searched it and found two that were like "Amazon choice" or whatever. And now I have a question. Who knew it would be so hard to choose measuring spoons haha it's actually technically 3 options.

Okay, so this is the first set. This is Amazon's Choice so displayed right at the top. Seems nice enough. I like the deep spoons

But then I saw this one, the second result, and it seems like a good idea. This one has oval or rectangular. Make sure to at least click both and look at some of the pictures of them/the design please.

It's hard because I love the first ones but then maybe the oval or rectangular is a good idea so it can fit into the spice jar.... but then I could always just take the lid off it..... didnt think of that before.

But I don't know. I'm just so indecisive!

Someone decide for me. :lau
You are asking the wrong person! I have many teaspoon sets.

The second link will go into spice bottles better

My input is not going to be helpful...:duc I have two sets of measuring spoons and cups. One set is more comfortable (soft handles, BIG bright markings), but too flimsy on some ingredients. The second is heavy duty stainless steel, plenty strong but hard to read. Both sets are round, but I often wish they were another shape to more easily fit the jar. My crazy recommendation: Go to someplace like walmart and look, touch and feel for what's comfortable for you. Then go to a high end Store and do the same. Take note of brands and specifications then look on amazon etc to compare prices for what you like.

Thanks! That is a much better and smarter idea!

Instead I just impulse bought the first set :(

I wish I had read your post first.

But that said, I was only on Amazon cause I also bought the suggested grater and figured I'd buy both while there.

But probably should have gone in store and looked around.

Also, you say your suggestion wasn't going to be helpful but in fact, it was VERY helpful and no need for that emoji!

I am just a horrible impulse buyer and inpatient

Thats what i figured yet for some reason i got the first set? Maybe i should have gotten both...

Ron, I have a drawer and a cabinet dedicated to measuring devices and two scales.:lau

ETA: I need at least two more scales as well.

We have soo many measuring cups and i suppose spoonds too but a lot are mismatched or lost now or faded etc. I've tried to buy my own and they too get lost or ruined

I have a kitchen scale I got probably early this yesr or last year along with a bathroom one. Also have an egg scale but its more cutesy. The digital is more accurate. The egg is one of those chickens and you set the egg on it and the scale tips. The incredible egg scale. Worked fine till i got the digital ha

I dont really use most of them now though.

Although my brother stole my bathroom scale so we ordered another and my dad ordered a different one (he wanted one he found, i wanted the same brand so we ordered separate. So stupid really). But both work great as does the kitchen one

Right now i mostly use the kitchen one to weigh Gator's satin balls so I can defrost them properly in the microwave. I weigh them still in the sandwich bags though so i dont get raw meat on the scale. Ive been putting his dasuquin in it

Not that I'm a pack rat or anything, but I still have most of the set my Grandmother gave me when I was 8 and I still use them from time to time, and every time I do, it brings back fond memories of cooking with her.;)

I think the other problem is I don't like the current sets and our cabinet is so messy. We probably still have it, just buried.

Wow that's impressive! Ha
