The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

They're full size. I put one pie in the fridge for tomorrow and the other 2 are in the freezer for 'whenever'. We have a big pan of green chili turkey enchiladas to finish up. And of course, all that CAKE!

So no cooking necessary for at least a couple (or more) days!

Ahh that makes sense!

Yummy supper DH made tonight...

Wow, she sure has grown up - beautifully. She'd be great for shampoo ads too
Yep, she and Kendra have some seriously thick hair!

I am showing everyone my shiny new saw!View attachment 1240712
I don't guess I'm supposed to mention that MOST people don't keep their table saws in the kitchen :D

Because I took some pics for the Yum thread, just sharing a picture of last night’s real food ;)

It is only in the kitchen until we carry it out to the workshop. Hopefully tomorrow. Hubby doesn't like sawdust everywhere.

Nice saw @CapricornFarm - and lucky you getting a yummy dinner cooked for you! Looks delish!

My flaky Button girl who was on eggs, due in a couple of days, decided she'd had enough. Her previous hatch she only had one viable egg at the end of it. She let that chick hatch and wander off. I found it in time to warm it, then gave it back to her, only to discover when I next checked that she'd squashed it with one of the dead eggs!!! :barnie

I commented to hubby that I didn't think she was going to get back on her nest. My hubby (who does not really like the birds) said I should just put them in the incubator! :wee You don't have to tell me twice! (Just don't tell him I've also popped 18 fresh Button eggs in there). They won't all be fertile anyway...

I'm hoping for more mystery babies! :fl Didn't work last time but dreams are free.

Here are a couple of photos from today:

Little mystery is on the far left

Without the flash shows their colours better but it's hard to get them standing still long enough! Mystery is second from the right:

Like isn't enough for them, i love them! Can you put something in a picture for scale, they must be teensy!:love

Here's a cinnamon (same baby in both photos) I got a photo of before it tried to leap from my hand! They are so quick and slippery and this one was not happy about being taken away from its family! They are three days old and just getting the beginnings of wing feathers - they have grown quite a bit in three days. They are adorable little things, but not at all cuddly like the Coturnix can be.

I know quail grow crazy fast. I took a picture of 2 babies in a tablespoon right after they hatched! 6 weeks later they were laying eggs!
