Sounds like a go if they are setting for a week. Of course you have to deal with the cold but the Broody should keep them warm

Yep!

It is a good idea to have an incubator as a backup and also an emergency brooder ready to go. I have read about a lot of things happening to and with a broody during incubation and raising them
 
I know that little ones can sit on several larger eggs, but what do they do to help keep the young ones warm when they are bigger than her? I'm wanting to put buckeyes under the bantams.
I'm hoping to get a hold of some partridge chanteclers, as they're bigger, are extremely broody and make excellent mothers. Buckeyes are evidently terrible at it.

Probably, after all, once you've gone to all the trouble testing it, it would be a shame to stuff it away again.

It is one of those tough things since We in the USA do use BBQ both ways. If I go to a BBQ place it is slow cooked smoked meat. If I am BBQing a steak at home, that is grilling on over coals while others use propane.

I think we confuse ourselves as much as we confuse the world LOL!

For me, there is no confusion. Whether food is smokey flavored because of BBQ sauce, or whether it is cooked on a grill, my stomach considers smoke signals a declaration of war, so I consume it at my peril.

(Netflix has recently started carrying a lot of Aussie TV shows. Crikey that's a lot of slang to learn!)
