Just dandy. Maybe they only do it for all their customers that just had their entire line from the road to the house replaced. Pretty cheap insurance for them then!
Sounds like what I'm dealing with with my county right now. Our property access is on the west side along a highway. The county is insisting that, even though the province put in the existing access, we have to access our property along a rural route on the north side of the property. The kicker is, the rural route ends at the last house. WE have to extend the road to our entrance at our expense... about 100 yards!

ETA that this part of the rural road is lowland, almost marsh.

Wow! Full on whirlwind day, so much so that the fact that I have handed in my resignation has not really sunk in yet!

Yep, I did it! I got the contract, it has been signed and uploaded along with the confidentiality agreement; foot pedal and headphones on order. I have a transcription guide to read and I was going to do that tonight but nope, I will save it for tomorrow .. I need time to process and celebrate!

:wee :celebrate :clap :ya :woot :yesss:

Methinks the only Doubting Thomas in the group was you, Teila! But it's easy for us to sit back, follow what's happening and have total faith in you - your life was the one that being directly impacted so I think a little fear was a healthy and natural thing for you to feel. Sooo tickled for you!!!

Congratulations, Teila. Must be the year for changes. Daughter has held down a full time job in addition to doing legal and medical transcription. She just turned in her resignation and has purchased the transcription company that she has worked for. Long story made short is that they cut her a deal because they wanted HER to carry on with their customers.

That's wonderful, Sour! To have that kind of expertise and confidence says a lot about how she was raised!

Makes perfect sense to me - NOT! :he

I don't think @Teila doubted herself or her capabilities, it is just hard to step out of the frying pan, even if you are pretty sure the fire is out.

Well wouldn't that make YOU the NEW last house on the rural route? That means the county has to extend the road. I'd fight for that. Not real keen on a road next to a marsh though.

Yayyyyyy!!! The pass opened today. We can finally take 14A over to Sheridan and back home again, saving us 45 minutes over driving down to Greybull, then over 14 to the junction.

Good Morning Friends :hugs

Beautiful robin pic DMC!

Blooie Wow, that pass pic is unreal to someone living in the tropics! Having said that, it was 57F [14C] this morning which equates to ‘the ice age’! :lau

Thank you all for your kind words and congratulations.

Hey Ron yep, gave 4 weeks’ notice yesterday.

Tee hee Sean no happy dance video!

Congrats to your daughter Sour; that is awesome!

To be honest, last night it was still all a bit surreal and it wasn’t really until this morning that it sunk in that I had resigned and that was because I did not approach my desk with that usual feeling of dread and instead, was smiling. As hubby said, let the countdown commence! :clap

I called my boss and told him before hitting send on the email and while he was sad for them, he said he was pleased for me but then, in typical form, proceeded to say that he would like my input on how they fill my role and I quote “may be we could look at getting a junior” Pfffft! :smack

My previous boss who was also my reference and to whom I was chatting yesterday said “they have no idea what and how much you do” and when I told him about the “junior” quip, he laughed and said “Yeah, good luck with that!”. 18 years knowledge with the company and the thought process is to replace me with a junior from outside who has no idea how any of our specialised systems work.

Anyways, why am I bothering to even care? Not my problem!! :wee
