The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Morning, everyone! Slept in this morning....stupid dog ate something that didn't agree with her and I was up 3 times during the night taking her out. <sigh> To top it off, Kendra's on line speech therapy has been scheduled for Mondays and Fridays now, so she'll be here shortly.
I hate it when my Georgie does that....thought he was going to keel over on me the last time. Hope you get a nap before you and Kendra start the therapy! :hugsHope it goes well, too!:thumbsup

Sorry to hear that Blooie! Hope the dog is better and Kendra's session goes well. And hope you are able to get a nap in or some sleep tonight!

I was also up late. Went to bed around 1, didn't fall asleep till 2. Slept till maybe quarter to 5 or 5, had to pee anyway but tgen the stupid dog was freaking out at something. I went up and down the stairs a million times because every time I would get all the way up the stairs or finally in bed again, he would bark again! UGH! At 5 I did take him on a leash in the front to pee though. Didn't want to let him out back and risk him barking too early. So after that he was just being a pain. I could even hear him with ear plugs. Anyway, I finally tossed a bit of water on him after the third or fourth time. Maybe cruel but I was SOOO frustrated and tired and it was only a tiny tiny bit and mostly just the surprise that stopped him (I was behind the counter). I never do that but he shut up for a while after that though hah but then around 6 he started barking again but a different bark. I knew he probably needed to poop but he had been SO annoying I though he was just barking to be a pest. Anyway, long story short, he barked for a half hour or hour straight before I finally got sick of it and let him out around 7. Also didn't want to let him out too early. He pooped, sure enough, and came right back in. But then he started again a little bit, off and on. He's turning into a royal pain in the arse!!! But at that point, I was already awake. I tried going back to sleep a few times but then I got pain/IBS from the stress so I couldn't. So then I just stayed awake. And amazingly, my brother stayed sound asleep this whole time despite me going up and down the stairs 5 million times, in and out of the bathroom (opening and shutting door each time so the AC doesn't go in there), dog barking, etc. But he did also have a fan in his room and in the hall but still. I had the AC and a fan and still heard the dog so idk. He was tired. He finally rolled out of bed around 10:30 and was like "wow you're up early" LOL yeah... not by choice. I told him the story. He was like wow idk how I didn't wake up.

So I'm exhausted.

I did walk Libby today though and she was amazing so that's good.

Not on the west coast :D

Lol true

It is 12:27pm here now

Now it's afternoon :D

My sister taught her dog to ring the bell to go out, and there is a bell outside to ring to come back in. He drives her nuts just because he likes doing it. She created a monster.

Oh wow! I never thought of that possibility. I used to think the bell was a good idea. Not anymore lol it sounds like teaching "paw" or "shake" and then the dog does it all the time lol

Libby paws the door to go play now. But she acts different when she truly has to go out so we're able to distinguish. But she LOVES her flirt pole and we usually go out after walks (didn't today, didn't feel like it and FSIL is home) so now like the second we get back, she is pawing at the back door and I'm like chill girl lol

We have 4 indoor cats. They can go out onto the enclosed porch through a window in the dining room and 3 do. That window stays open in warmer weather, closed in the winter. They let us know when they want to go out by going to the window but of course we have to be there looking. 2 are smart enough to paw at the window to come back in, sort of like knocking. The other sits outside the window and does her nearly silent meow. Yeah we don't hear that.

We thought about putting a bell on the outside and one on the inside. Then thought better of the inside one given how often they come in then not long later are back at the window wanting out. Yeah we would go nuts. Might still put one outside though I don't know if Rascal is smart enough to learn to ring it. She sure hasn't learned to "knock" despite seeing the other cats do it and having the window open.
