I helped some friends out with their concession trailer for 3 years. We traveled to county fairs in Ohio. Our specialty was deep fried dills (battered, not breaded). We also would get 5 gallon pails of huge kosher dills. We would poke a skewer in them, put the in a large jar on the counter and sell them for a buck. Kids gobbled them up. I was always surprised when little kids would go crazy over something so sour.

I worked at concession stands too. Making pizza in a little shack with two big ovens at 500° in the summer. I also sold cotton candy.

I'm going to go on a rant here, so consider yourselves forewarned...
I drove through the reservation that is on my eastern property line. They've been having a lot of utility type digging going on lately. I was drooling over the beautiful black earth that was there (everywhere around here is mostly clay).

Anyhow, I was at the laundry mat recently and this woman and I started talking. Turns out she lives on the reservation, so I asked her if they were getting new sewage or something. She told me that the government is putting in water lines to bring in city water. Around here, potable water is easy to find with fairly shallow wells, so it seems pretty silly to me.

Ok...now for the real rant...
There are people living in remote areas, where the government has forced them to live, aka reservations. These people are unable to get any kind of decent water. They're all either really sick, for many generations, or dying. They have been bringing this issue to the government for decades. So what does the government do? They give potable water to the wealthy nations, who already have decent water, and don't help those that need it!?! That way they can say that they have helped. I'm sorry, but that just isn't right.

Every time I hear about how horribly our first nations have been treated, I'm so ashamed to be white.
 
Anybody ever baked any dog biscuits/cookies? Thinking of trying it, just for fun, and wondering if anyone had ever tried it or had favorite recipes. I know there are some bakers here but I can't imagine dog treats are something you guys would bake. But figured I would ask. Got some new cookie sheets yesterday. I know there are recipes online but I get a little overwhelmed because there are sooo many and I never know where to start first.

Years ago, before we had kids, i had 13 dogs and i baked dog cookies. Made up my own recipe. Not sure if i could find it. Some even had cat food in them. But they had to be refiridgerated of course. Let me look.
