hmmm I think this is good.... :idunno

I had to take a break from the garden... I'm 6'3" and had to come get a ladder to finish trellising my tomatoes... One of these days I'm gonna spring for the stupid yoyo's so I can coil the plants near the base. But I'm cheap :rant
We went over to the farm of the people we get ground beef from at the Farmer's Market this afternoon. They have HUGELY tall tomatoes in their big greenhouse. I bet they are 10' tall in their 18" high raised beds.

Mine either!! I have only one Sungold cherry and one Early Girl. Almost killed the nice looking plants from the nursery when I used too much fertilizer at planting time. But they look really good now and are about 3' high with some not yet ripe tomatos.
I picked my first tomato today. It doesn’t look fabulous...neither do my 2 plants.

I have like almost 15 plants :lau

I used too much fertilizer on my peppers last year but then they came back. Some of my tomatoes arw shorter and some are really tall. Some are on the verge of the chicken run and I found a worm on planting so are thriving, others are in the new bed. The difference is astounding lol but the others are doing well too, it's just a few that are still pretty small. I put new, different organic potting soil around/on all the plants and one of my peppers suddenly has all these new leaves and is green lol the other one is still yellow and eaten or something.

Mine keep switching between almost dying and doing well lol mostly the potted ones

Another severe t-storm right now, and a big tornado near Douglas today. Dunno what’s happening in Wyoming, but Reed Timmer should have to get Wyoming license plates with as much time as he’s spending here!

I’m not growing anything this year - well, except for one puppy. Here she is, taking a nap in front of the stove....and the dishwasher.....and the cabinet....

trying a new type of chicken, breda's, bought four chicks from a friend who's starting to raise and sell, three splash and one blue, tried to pick three hens and one cockerel, well, very hard to tell due to they don't have much of a comb, but anyway this morning the larger one that i thought was a cockerel started crowing or at least trying, you know how the rooster crows? well this fella has the last part of the crow, then three ha ha ha's, so weird and funny, think the smallest one is a cockerel also, so two pair:lol:

Have any pictures to share?

They are going to pay, right? ;)

Forgot to relate...the day after the disaster dinner, a man from the company came in to pay and apologize (poor guy, he wasn't even at the dinner). He seemed really embarrassed, so we took mercy on him :p

Wow, sounds like your green thumb is working overtime!

Aren't Elks actually Santa's reindeer??

Only if they stand on 2 feet, wear Hawaiian shirts and drink lots of alcohol!

It's tiring doing all that growing! (And growing, and growing, and...)

I love big dogs, very huggable and cute and generally friendlier/calmer, but I think I need a little bit of a smaller dog next time. More of a medium breed like a Lab or a Golden. Of course, those are still considered large breeds by most and I guess they are, medium is maybe more border collie or beagle, but those aren't really my style and I don't wanna go too small ha anyway, very long story short, retrievers are still small compared to our current dog haha 147 pounds at his last checkup but I think he's lost weight since then. Should be maybe 10 or so pounds lighter but I think he's probably hit it or close. Anyway, point being, he's a BIG boy. So a 50, 60 or even 70 pound dog is nothing lol he's half black Lab, half Great Pyrenees. But even Libby, brother and FSIL's puppy, is pretty big. I know she's over 50 pounds and I think she might even be 60 pounds now and she's only 9 months old. Great Pyrenees, Lab, Boxer, and 25% unidentified. We like big dogs ha it said the unidentified is a toy breed but we don't really believe that. FSIL was just telling me that the foster said that the mom was full Pyrenees and the dad was some big Lab mix looking thing. So kind of hard to believe there is toy in there. I think the DNA test said one parent was full GP and the other was Lab/Boxer so that falls in line with what the foster said. And one parent was obviously something else too. She does have a really small head still and kind of long, skinny/narrow snout. Not a wide, thick head at all like the 3 main breeds. But then again she is female and was already spayed when they got her at 12 weeks so growth could be off. Anyway, very smart as well. Originally the rescue said Great Pyrenees/Border Collie, likely because of her markings, but she has very short fur. Not like either breed. But I think she could still have collie which could explain the smarts and the narrow snout. But idk.

Anyway, sorry, as usual, very long post and got off topic and on a tangent, again. Sorry, can never seem to stick to a point ha

Anyway, all that long winded nonsense to say that I could never get a small dog or at least not ONLY have a small dog. Love some of the little breeds but sometimes you just need to hug a big dog and/or dig your hands into their coat (if they have long fur) and you just can't hug little dogs the way you can big dogs. I mean, you can put them in your lap but that's not the same. And that's also what cats are for lol plus sometimes having a dog lay on or near you is nice and anxiety reducing and little dogs don't weigh enough lol
