Good morning Debby! About the time I’m able to fall back to sleep then the boys will get up for work. I go to the dentist at 9:00 for them to start the process of braces...whatever that involves.Ah ha! Another insomniac is heard from![]()

Thank you it should. The most painful is writing the check!! They have the option of 25% down and the rest divided out over 18 months with no interest thank goodness.Hope your appointment goes ok Lisa.
Good morning Sean! Thank you!Good morning Lisa
I too, hope your appointment goes well.
i have a hen thats about 6 or 7 years old, she was laying every day but just went broody, i kept taking her eggs cause she doesn't have a rooster but last night when i went to feed she was setting on nothing so decided to try to move her from where shes at to a safer place and i bought some fertile eggs from ebay, hoping to slip them under herRandom question for all you guys: how old is too old to breed chickens? Or is there no age limit? I wouldn't because we have no rooster and likely wouldn't get one for many reasons (I'll list them in a second) but I was just wondering more for curiosity's sake. My current hens are over 2 1/2, will be 3 at the end of October. Is that too old?
Probably wouldn't get a rooster because we have close neighbors in the back that probably wouldn't be happy plus we all like to sleep in or at least my brother and I and also my parents are kind of grossed out about eating fertilized eggs/worried abiut taste. So likely we won't. But I have always thought it would be cool to hatch chicks. So I guess I was just wondering if I ever did if 3 was too old. They're all mostly still laying every day but some of the eggs are a little smaller now. Some are still quite large.
