The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Not on anything this morning. No pain other than the normal everyday background pain. :lau

That's a good update. Field trial was very small, and dogs all looked like crap. Maybe scenting was poor because we had our first major frost. Rosie got a 4th, but nothing to brag about. I was going to a neighbor club tomorrow, but they did not support us so I no longer feel the need. I will go there on Sunday and run Rosie. That'll be the last of trialing until the derby (young dog) trials start,

Too bad, I thought Rosie would have done better but your harder on her and yourself than others are going to be....I think that was a respectable placing inspite of the fact she's young. Maybe she'll place 1st at the next trial. I know I used to feel that way when my show calves didn't place where I thought they should.

Oh dear, sorry. I thought you might have slip ons. I hate that you have to go through all that.
Nope, no slip ons. I do have moccasins but don't wear them anymore, my grandmother made them for me when I was dancing the pow wow circuit, when I quit I put them away.

I am extremely critical of my dogs' performances. You can lie to others about your dogs, but if you lie to yourself you will never be successful.
Statement well put! :old

Had a 'know it all' start telling me about one of my dog's faults. I let him finish and said, "Are you really so stupid that you think I don't know what is wrong with my dog ? Now, would you like me to enlighten you with what is wrong with your dogs?" His buddies went hysterical, and he went silent.

Yep, been there had that said to me! :gig
There's always someone like that at every meet or show.

Tara Higgins who jumped ship for Facebook - had a long running and very, very wordy thread called "J'est a Bird in Pair of Dice." can find it via searchbox. She had HAIR SHEEP among dozens of other kinds of sheep, ducks, swans, geese, llama, genuinine Aussie Cattle dogs etc. Also loads of her genetics lessons. Whatever she is discussing, she goes to great lengths in doing so. You may find a lot of info there if you persist.

Also bred Chantecleer chickens with the flat-ist combs - no frost bite. She lives in one of
the severest temps. in Canada. something with an A. Sorry my brain battery wore out.
Probably Alberta.
That's one of the main reasons I have chanteclers too. They've got a cushion comb.
