raining here, not hard but would rather have the rain than the ice and snow they said we might get, the trucks are doing the roads with the gravel and salt mix, the pre-treatment before bad weather . hoping we don't need it
we had to go get my blood work done early this morning, nothing wrong just dr wants to see whats happening due to the diabetes and the roads were fine except for the gravel
but its getting colder and the rain is starting to freeze on the hand rails and steps and husband still have to go to his dr this morning at 9, if its real bad by then, he'll call and cancel
did i mention that i hate winter![]()
X2If it's getting icy, best to stay inside. Hope it doesn't get too bad for you Sharron!
I'd rather have the snow than the ice (not that we get any say in the decision).
we'll see how bad it is when almost time to go, if its really icy, will stay home, better safe than sorry, i have a crosstrek subaru, never tried it in the winter(always gone before it gets bad) but they're suppose to be good in snow, nothing is good on ice thoIf it's getting icy, best to stay inside. Nope, it was 4° at 7 AM, colder than Mr. NOAA expected (as usual). Don't know that I have enough wood. I have more trees cut but not all up at the house to block. Splitter is going back because though they claim it will out split a 22 ton non flywheel splitter, it more often than not crammed the wedge into the wood and I would spend 5 minutes with a 3' crowbar getting the wood out so the rack and wedge could retract. Gave up after about 1/2 hour and about 6 pieces of wood in the drying/storage rack, brought out the old 10 ton electric that uses hydraulics to move the wedge from end to end. If that one gets stuck, just reverse the direction. It split everything I had ready that the bigger, supposedly much stronger, splitter could not. Good thing I didn't sell the old, slow but steady, splitter before finding out the new one is a non starter.Hope your weather man is wrong about those low temps (like ours seems to be 75% of the time). Sounds like a lot of maneuvering and no fun to be outside doing it. Did you get enough wood you won't need the splitter again this winter?
Time to snowbird!did i mention that i hate winter![]()
