Splitter is going back because though they claim it will out split a 22 ton non flywheel splitter, it more often than not crammed the wedge into the wood and I would spend 5 minutes with a 3' crowbar getting the wood out so the rack and wedge could retract. Gave up after about 1/2 hour and about 6 pieces of wood in the drying/storage rack, brought out the old 10 ton electric that uses hydraulics to move the wedge from end to end. If that one gets stuck, just reverse the direction. It split everything I had ready that the bigger, supposedly much stronger, splitter could not. Good thing I didn't sell the old, slow but steady, splitter before finding out the new one is a non starter.

we may not be able to go snowbirding for awhile
not good news for husbands heart, have to go to a specialist, heart beat is really slow:hit(not for leaving but because he could have a heart attack and i could lose him) that scares me to death

I can't 'like' that post Sharron. Sorry to hear about your DH's heart issue. Will they give him a new rx to help or do they just watch it for a while?

yeah, husband went outside yesterday to split some logs and found that some gook coming out, when he called where we bought it, they said they had the same problem and on the internet, it was the splitter had to be totally level, think we might have bought a piece of junk

not sure what the specialist will do, waiting for him to call and make an appointment. i would rather stay here than take a chance of losing him. hes not even to lift anything slightly heavy but stubborn man that he is, he won't let me bring in the wood for the wood stove. he trys to protect me

When someone is used to being active, it's hard for them to sit and take it easy. My husband's the same way, even when it's in his best interest, he has to be doing something. Doesn't make it easy to be the one watching and worrying!
