The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Turns out DB DOES have strep

We knew it from the moment he got home Monday because he's had no voice but my dad kept saying he was just hungover and DB kept insisting he wasn't sick or it wasn't that bad until yesterday. Yeah, well, now he got everyone else sick and went over to other DB & FSIL yesterday and will probably get them sick now too...

Granted, if you go too early, sometimes the test comes back negative but still.

So now I'm pretty positive I have strep too.
Keep gargling to kill off as many nasty bugs as possible.

My grandfather was big on the kerosene remedies. I agree with your dad, you make cold your friend...doesn't bother ya.
When they lived in the Plains in Texas Grandpa would pay a couple of the local Tribe members to go out and catch a few horses...

By the time they got em home they were trained.... He said they ran em down... Awesome crazy horse skills...

This was three of my dads sisters... One had already moved away... ON an old Rodeo bronc... He was an awesom horse dad said but you didnt dare raise one hand up.... LOL

Ugly day out there, no ice but plenty of rain. River in flood stage again.
I went out this evening to put the chicken slop out to cool and bring a can of paint in. Just wore my shoes because there are no bad slippery areas, i can stay on the gravel driveway.
Mini started barking and i went to investigate. She had treed yet another possum! So i went back and got hubby and his gun. I swapped into my boots, so no story of falling on my butt in the mud. I need to find my holster, it is too awkward to carry a gun and a flashlight.

I hope you like it!

Sounds like she does...right about now I wouldn't mind to have some, too! Guess I'll just have to settle for store bought chocolate covered shortbread cookies.

Oh yes! Dad and I think it's delicious and have already eaten almost half or at least over a quarter of it :lau

You are more than welcome to some!!

Thanks! Good idea! I'm also gonna eat lots of oranges and emergen c and fruit hence the strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries I bought. Supposed to have antioxidants and stuff good for fighting colds

Gee, I wonder if that wasn't my great grandfather, he used to break horses for different ranches, like the 6666 aka "the 4 sixes" ranch, the pitchfork ranch and for Charlie Goodnight.

Making cranberry bread, although I probably put wayyy too many cranberries in (the whole bag ) but oh well. It does say 1 1/2 cups and the bag is 12 oz but then the serving size says a serving is 1 cup and there's like 3 1/2 servings in it but I figure more cranberries can't hurt and what am I gonna do with an open half a bag of cranberries? Probably should have doubled the recipe and made 2 loaves considering there's barely any bread between all those cranberries but oh well. Also added a bit more orange peel than it said just cause I had grated a little more by accident and figured I'd just use it up. Not sure how it will taste. May be too citrusy with the orange juice and orange peel but we'll see. If it IS too citrusy then next time I might just use water. But we'll see. And I omitted the nuts. No one here really likes those.
