The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Sharon my baby brother has a pacemaker and a defib thing implanted. He had a quadruple by pass years ago. Honestly I don't know how they fit that stuff in a chest . He also has a insulin pump (on outside) but, the site needs to be changed often. Has to check his blood sugar frequently during the day.
Never hear a whimper out of him. He is stoic and a hero of mine.
i'm hoping thats what they can do, a pacemaker, anything to "fix" him, not ready to let him leave me, been with him a long time , caught him in 1967 when i turned 17, been hin ever since

Yeah, I don't take pain pills unless the pain levels at emergency room level, completely off the chart! When I broke my tibia & fibia, I didn't even realize it, no pain...didn't take any pain medication the whole time it was healing, it took 11 months before I could walk again.
Had all four of my wisdoms remove at once. Never took pain meds then, too! Doc asked me if I wanted them but I told him my pain meds a bottle of Wild Turkey. He didn't think it was funny, told me I better not get dry socket or he'd hurt me the next time! :lau

thats how dad was.... Most he ever took was aspirin.... He used to say pain is in your mind.... His was the same brand I believe .... Though I dont believe there were many bourbons he didnt like there for a while.

He was that way about the cold too or the heat... Guess ist benefits of his daddy being a sharecropper.... Work first comfort later.

And Home remedies.... INcluded Pine Tar Epsom salts and Kerosine...

my daddy was the same, all the above ingredients but you forgot one, sulfur

When they lived in the Plains in Texas Grandpa would pay a couple of the local Tribe members to go out and catch a few horses...

By the time they got em home they were trained.... He said they ran em down... Awesome crazy horse skills...

This was three of my dads sisters... One had already moved away... ON an old Rodeo bronc... He was an awesom horse dad said but you didnt dare raise one hand up.... LOL

What a nice love story. I was 20 in '67
i was 17 like i said, turned 17 in may, met him in sept day before school started, he was 20 we've been together since then and i've always told him i wanted to get married and grow old together, well till about ten years ago, still wanted to be married but forget the growing old :gig
i truely think we were meant to be together, him being from pa and me fl :thumbsup

yes, mine too, he also ran moonshine for awhile:lol:

My granddad did that for a while. It got him chased out of Iowa to S. Dakota. When he promised to straighten out his act, his family let him come back to the family farm in IA. He was a hell-raiser when younger but I think his fiery nature kept him going until he was 92. Loved that guy, best grandpa ever.
