The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

It was about 10 years ago. That child has no pain receptors (she must channel @007Sean !) She had climbed up to an old platform in a tree that some neighborhood kids had built probably 20 years earlier and it was rotting. It broke out under her and she dropped about 6'. She came back up the hill holding her arm and told DW she hurt it. DW noticed that one arm was shorter than the other and took her to the ER. Luckily the specialist that deals with that sort of thing happened to be in the hospital. She took 1 pain pill during the multi week recovery period. Took 1 when she had her wisdom teeth out as well.
Yeah, I don't take pain pills unless the pain levels at emergency room level, completely off the chart! When I broke my tibia & fibia, I didn't even realize it, no pain...didn't take any pain medication the whole time it was healing, it took 11 months before I could walk again.
Had all four of my wisdoms remove at once. Never took pain meds then, too! Doc asked me if I wanted them but I told him my pain meds a bottle of Wild Turkey. He didn't think it was funny, told me I better not get dry socket or he'd hurt me the next time! :lau

He was that way about the cold too or the heat... Guess ist benefits of his daddy being a sharecropper.... Work first comfort later.

And Home remedies.... INcluded Pine Tar Epsom salts and Kerosine...

My grandfather was big on the kerosene remedies. I agree with your dad, you make cold your friend...doesn't bother ya.

Making cranberry bread, although I probably put wayyy too many cranberries in (the whole bag ) but oh well. It does say 1 1/2 cups and the bag is 12 oz but then the serving size says a serving is 1 cup and there's like 3 1/2 servings in it but I figure more cranberries can't hurt and what am I gonna do with an open half a bag of cranberries? Probably should have doubled the recipe and made 2 loaves considering there's barely any bread between all those cranberries but oh well. Also added a bit more orange peel than it said just cause I had grated a little more by accident and figured I'd just use it up. Not sure how it will taste. May be too citrusy with the orange juice and orange peel but we'll see. If it IS too citrusy then next time I might just use water. But we'll see. And I omitted the nuts. No one here really likes those.
