The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I have a cupboard full of baking ingredients so guess I need to get on it. I'm going to fix mom up with a box of treats and send them to her. She doesn't do much cooking or baking anymore so she'll like getting that.
That’s a nice gift. How do you pack them so they don’t get squashed?
I've been dragging my feet on baking Christmas stuff because we don't want a lot of it sitting around the house (my mom can only eat so much of it).

Problem solved! DH was just telling me he stopped in at the big equipment rental place he uses for the golf course, and the manager asked him if I was doing any holiday baking. Him and his wife come into the restaurant occasionally and they always ask for dessert. So...looks like there won't be any excess stuff after all. Stan & his guys will be getting a big plate of goodies!

That puts me in the mood to get cranking on the holiday treats!
I think I’ll bake the weekend right before Christmas otherwise I’ll have to do it again.

Gator has been much improved since I took the flea collar off. I was planning on taking him to the vet yesterday if he wasn't better, even called and everything, but then he seemed to have more energy/be more alert, even to the point of being annoying and stealing stuff/getting in trouble lol, and didn't throw up again the entire day. Today he was even hungry and went up to his bowl and ate some kibble (he is free fed so the bowl has been there all week, he could have eaten any time he wanted but he hasn't been hungry. I later emptied it because I figured it was probably stale) and had some chicken and rice. Well, chicken. Boiled up a breast and cooked up some white rice but he didn't want the rice so I had to pick the chicken out and he ate that. Wouldn't eat if it had even a small bit of rice on it lol pickest dog in the world. But at least he ate SOMETHING. And he has kept it down thus far. My mom did find another tiny little pile this morning but I think that was from last night or maybe even older. He has not been gagging or anything today or yesterday and is keeping food down and more energetic. I may still take him in for a check up when my dad comes home tomorrow just to be sure but I really honestly believe the flea collar was the problem because ever since I took it off, he has dramatically improved. I bought a handheld shower head tonight so I will give him another bath in the morning (can't figure out how to install it/can't get old shower head off plus he is sleeping downstairs). I believe with a full bath to remove all residue he will improve even more. Also bought new collars yesterday

I am so stinkin’ happy for you FD...and bless you for sharing the videos along the way. That made it so much easier to visualize what you were talking about, and makes your new homefeel like our new home too!! Will you get to move in soon or is there more stuff to setting it?
I'm tearing everything down to the studs sadly. There's old knob & tube wiring and cast iron plumbing. Also, because the house was frozen when it moved this week, there are cracks in all of the walls and ceilings :(

I don't know if I shared this before or not, but here's a tour of the current inside.
